Duties included test engineering for advanced wireless telecommunications systems, business presentations, project management, documentation and support of various hardware and software systems for the companies national and international operations. Was the sole developer responsible for the design and development of a GPS based software system for the collection and analysis of two-way RF coverage for a national paging network. Functions included gathering specifications from users, specifying test methodology and test hardware, hiring and managing consultants, designing, coding and testing software, documenting the systems, and training users. A second software system was developed for the use of PageNet’s network operations center (NOC) to provide statistical paging network quality data for command, control and planning functions within the company. All systems involved extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN / WAN operations and wireless data transfer protocols such as TAP, TNPP, FLEX (one way) and REFLEX (two-way) to implement. Other software systems were developed to evaluate, diagnose and test a multitude of telecommunications hardware and software systems. Duties also included software test and analysis of commercial programs and interfacing with vendors to resolve problems. Functions also included extensive LAN administration (NT and Unix) and system support for the companies test lab. |
